Privacy Policy

1. Data Minimization and Information We Do Not Collect

The Notifier is designed to function without collecting personal data. We intentionally minimize data usage to what is strictly necessary for app functionality.

• We do not collect personal identifiable information (PII).
• We do not require account registration.
• We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or precise location data.
• We do not use advertising identifiers, analytics SDKs, or third-party tracking tools.

2. Local Notifications and Alarms

All personal notifications and alarms you schedule (including messages, notes, and links) are stored locally on your device. This data never leaves your phone unless you explicitly choose to use features that require server communication.

3. Calendar Access

If you choose to enable calendar access, The Notifier reads events directly from your device’s native calendar app. Calendar data is processed locally on your device and is not sent to our servers.

Exception: If you create a remote push notification based on a calendar event, the relevant event information required to send that push notification will be stored on our servers.

4. Push Notification Groups (Paid Feature)

The Notifier offers an optional paid feature that allows you to create push notification groups and invite others to join via a link or QR code.

• Group members can join anonymously.
• No personal identifiable information is shared with group owners or other members.
• Members can leave a group or pause notifications at any time.

Push notifications are delivered using trusted third-party notification infrastructure, which may include Expo Notification Services and, in the future, Apple Push Notification service (APNs) and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM).

These services process limited technical information (such as device tokens) solely for the purpose of delivering push notifications. This information is not used for tracking, advertising, or analytics.

Push notifications are used as a privacy-friendly alternative to SMS or email announcements, as they do not require sharing phone numbers or email addresses.

5. In-App Purchases

We use the transaction identifiers provided by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store solely to validate and restore your in-app purchases. We do not receive or store your payment information.

6. Backups and Data Restoration

You may optionally choose to back up your local app data. Backup data may include:

• Scheduled notifications, alarms, and push notifications
• Device ID
• Group ID and group name
• Groups you have joined

Backup data is encrypted. You are provided with a Private Restore Key, which is required to restore your data. We do not store your Private Restore Key and do not have access to it. Without this key, your data cannot be restored.

7. Data Used to Track You

The Notifier does not use any data for tracking purposes. We do not track users across apps or websites owned by other companies, and we do not use advertising identifiers or analytics for tracking.

8. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the limited data that may be stored on our servers for push notifications and backups. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Notifier does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. Because the app does not collect personal data, it is inherently privacy protective.

9. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Even though The Notifier does not collect personal identifiable information, we respect applicable privacy regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

Under these laws, users may have the right to:

• Request access to personal data we may hold
• Request deletion of personal data
• Object to or restrict certain data processing
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal data (we do not sell data)

Because we do not collect or sell personal data, most of these rights are inherently satisfied by our app design.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app, applicable laws, or platform requirements. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
